Some Obsessions Are Less Harmful Than Others....My Precious
Act 1, Scene 1:
It is morning in the Shire. Bilbo is writing invitations
to his 111th Birthday party. Gandalf knocks on the door and Bilbo answers.
They embrace one another and are happy. They talk about the up coming
party and the preparation. They then break into song:
(Sung to the Tune of Tomorrow from the musical Annie)
Bilbo sings:
My party is here
Tomorrow,
The shire will turn out
Tomorrow
It will be fun.
Gandalf sings:
There’ll be fireworks
Tomorrow,
Rockets with dragons
And shooting stars
Til the’re done.
Bilbo sings:
When I’m stuck on this ring
This thing
That’s scary
I just plant my big feet
So neat
And sing.......
Oh
Bilbo and Gandalf Sing Together with their arms around each other in friendship:
The party is here
Tomorrow
So we gotta get ready for
Tomorrow
Bilbo’s day
Tomorrow
Tomorrow
We can’t wait
Tomorrow
The party’s a day away
