The Continuing Adventures of The Scottish Geisha

Chapter 73, Installment 207: The Case Against Shanahan

All New Installment! March 23rd, 2004

The Scottish Geisha was never one to mince words. "That awful hockey person from the Red Wings, that Shanahan, he needs to go," she announced imperiously.
Go? Go where?
Anywhere, it seemed, but near The Sharks.
"That dreadful person," The Scottish Geisha fumed. "He better steer clear of our little Surly or else."
Or else what we declined to ask. .
We knew better.
The Scottish Geisha was becoming quite distracted as the regular NHL season neared an end and the playoffs loomed.
"We should be able to overtake Colorado," she mused as she poured over the most recent stats, "We just need to avoid unpleasant people like that Shanahan"
What Brendan Shanahan, left winger for the Detroit Red Wings, had ever done to The Scottish Geisha remained a mystery.
The Scottish Geisha declined to elaborate. "One would think, at his advanced age, that Shanahan would have learned to be....more pleasant," The Scottish Geisha stated.
After Macro Strum's injury and the international furor over Todd Bertuzzi's brutality on the ice, we could understand The Scottish Geisha's concern.
"Surly will be much concerned with the upcoming play-offs. He doesn't need this kind of..distraction," she added.
Knowing both teams, Sharks and Red Wings, would be going to the play-offs, and knowing how The Scottish Geisha had a tendency to latch on to Certain Issues, we suddenly, in all our worldly wisdom, felt a tad bit sorry for Shanahan.
