The Continuing Adventures of The Scottish Geisha

Chapter 35, Installment 92: Post Oscar Hang Overs

The post Oscar glow of LOTR sweeping the night continued in the form of outrageous hangovers for many in TLL offices. The Scottish Geisha, of course, contributed mightily to our collective pain by discretely dropping off AA pamphlets on our desks. "Plus, you all wouldn't have so many issues with your weight if you went into recovery,"she added helpfully.
We were so encouraged.
Meanwhile, The Scottish Geisha was busy indoctrinating LTP (The Little Princess) into the joys of hockey.
"She truly enjoys the game but seems to think that Scott Parker is quite appealing," The Scottish Geisha lamented. "Whatever have I done wrong that she doesn't see sweet Surly for the catch that he is?"
We wisely decided not to comment since The Scottish Geisha's daughter was but a mini version of the more mature version but with a decidedly funkier edge.
"Parker's got some radical tattoos," The Little Princess commented in turn.
The Scottish Geisha narrowed her green orbs and smiled a smile that didn't quite reach up to her eyes.
"Darling," she began in measure, too patient tones, "Mr. Parker is quite a fetching specimen but he is rather...well, rustic, don't you think?"
"I think," LTP retorted, "That he's ripped and he's hot. I like the way he gets in other players faces even when they are bigger than he is."
The Scottish Geisha smiled for real this time. "Well, he certainly doesn't have much to worry about on that front. Not many players are bigger than he is."
TLP nodded happily. "He's a catch, I can tell."
The Scottish Geisha decided to let that one alone. "Surly is a catch too dear heart," she said gently.
It was like looking in a mirror at those two.
"Surly is sweet, I agree but Parker has such an...edge," TLP countered.
"That is precisely, my dearest one, what I am talking about," The Scottish Geisha said as she kissed her daughter on each cheek in farewell.
There was an audible sigh from The Scottish Geisha's posh office.
"That child has such a way of thinking about men," she sighed. "I cannot fathom where she gets it from."
