As the Shark's continue to win game after game, the battle
at the office heated up. "Really," The Scottish Geisha
intoned, "Someone needs to do something about Virginia Bob."
Amazingly, it was The Scottish Geisha herself that was the reason Virginia
Bob continued to hang around the office but nobody was going to bring
that up.
This battle was all brought about by Virginia Bob's particular talent
for dismissing Surly and his considerable talents.
"Honestly, you people need to deal with this," she added,
using her most dulcet tones. Tones, we would like to add, that always
carried A Warning.
Virginia Bob, was, as usual, non pulsed by The Scottish Geisha's outrage.
"She's jist high strung is all," he said, waving off our warnings.
"And seems ta be smitten with that boy thou I couldn't tell ya'll
why."
Virginia Bob had a particular habit of referring to The Scottish Geisha
as if she wasn't in the room.
"What SHOULD happen," The Scottish Geisha continued, as if
Virginia Bob wasn't in the room either, "Is that somebody should
point out to somebody else, how well our little Surly is doing and under
such trying circumstances."
Trying? It seemed to us that the Sharks had hit their stride, were doing
incredibly well, and, having become one of the top teams in the NHL,
didn't seem to be operating under 'trying circumstances'.
The Scottish Geisha, however, disagreed. "It is always more trying
when one is on top," she explained. 'It is always more difficult
to maintain quality once you have it than to first achieve it."
Interesting, and a notion that those of us not acutely, well, striving
to be number one, or even quality, cared to delve into too deeply.
"All I am saying," The Scottish Geisha, maintained, "Is
that Surly is under even more pressure than he was last year and is
doing so very well despite the additional pressures he faces now."
Virginia Bob pulled a sour face. "She needs ta check out other
players," he stated. "See what REAL quality is."
The Scottish Geisha narrowed her emerald eyes evilly."Like your
beloved Capitals?" she asked sweetly, going in for the kill nonetheless.
"What place are they in now? Last?"
